Does an Apple Watch need a screen protector?
The Apple Watch screen sits at the outer edge of the wrist — the first thing to meet door frames, desks and gym racks.

When it is worth it
Aluminum Apple Watch models use Ion-X glass, which scratches more easily than the sapphire on steel and titanium models. If you work with your hands, lift weights or climb, a screen protector is cheap insurance; if you wear the watch only at a desk, a slim bumper may be enough.
Film, glass or a case with glass
A film is thin but scratches itself and peels at the curved edges. A stick-on glass is harder but can lift. A case with a screen protector — 9H tempered glass built into a snap-on frame — covers the edge too, so nothing lifts, and a seal ring keeps sweat and water from creeping under the glass.
What you give up
A little thickness, and on privacy versions some brightness. Touch stays responsive, the heart-rate sensor and charging work through the open back.
